China and the New Strategic Nuclear Arms Race

This report, informed by extensive open-source research, examines changes in Chinese capabilities over the past several years, as well as more recent changes to US and Russian capabilities. The report also evaluates the quality of open-source research on Chinese capabilities, noting that research is focused heavily on the delivery systems and not enough on the weapons stockpiles themselves, leaving an open-source intelligence gap.
