The 2018 War on the Rocks Holiday Reading List

This list, compiled of reading recommendations by NSWG member Ryan Evans and other WOTR contributors, highlights some of 2018’s best fiction and nonfiction. The list includes several nuclear security related books, such as On the Brink: Trump, Kim, and the Threat of Nuclear War by Van Jackson and The 2020 Commission Report on the North Korean Nuclear Attacks Against the United States: A Speculative Novel by Dr. Jeffrey Lewis. Ryan Evans

Ryan Evans is the founder, CEO, and editor-in-chief of War on the Rocks and the publisher of the Texas National Security Review. Mr. Evans deployed to Afghanistan from 2010 to 2011 as a Social Scientist on a U.S. Army Human Terrain Team and has since written extensively on Afghanistan and counterinsurgency. He has worked as a research fellow at the Washington-based Center for National Policy and for the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation and Political Violence in London.
