Dr. Shai Feldman is Professor of Politics and the Judith and Sidney Swartz Director of the Crown Center for Middle East Studies at Brandeis University, and a member of the Board of Directors of Harvard University’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. During his 35 year career, he has also served as a member of the UN Secretary General’s Advisory Board on Disarmament Matters. His expertise are focused on Israel-Palestinian negotiations, nuclear proliferation, U.S. policy in the Middle East, and Israel foreign policy.
Professor Shai Feldman is Professor of Politics and the Judith and Sidney Swartz Director of the Crown Center for Middle East Studies at Brandeis University. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Harvard University’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, a fellow of the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) in London, and President of Sapir Academic College in Israel.
He was previously Head of the Jaffee Center for Strategic Studies at Tel Aviv University. He has also served as a member of the UN Secretary General’s Advisory Board on Disarmament Matters.
His expertise are focused on Israel-Palestinian negotiations, nuclear proliferation, U.S. policy in the Middle East, and Israel Foreign Policy.
Professor Feldman is the author of numerous publications, including six books: Israeli Nuclear Deterrence: A Strategy for the 1980s; The Future of U.S.-Israel Strategic Cooperation; Nuclear Weapons and Arms Control in the Middle East; Bridging the Gap: A Future Security Architecture for the Middle East; Track-II Diplomacy: Lessons from the Middle East; and Arabs and Israelis: Conflict and Peacemaking in the Middle East.
Professor Feldman was educated at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and awarded an M.A. and a Ph.D. by the University of California at Berkeley.
